ULMC has a range of its own climbing and general outdoor equipment that is available for use by regular ULMC members. On borrowing equipment from the store please note down what you have borrowed and when you borrowed it, and make sure you return it. NB gear may not be loaned out if there is a club trip approaching, you've been warned. A deposit for the approximate value of the gear being loaned will be required, to encourage its return.
ULMC's gear is marked with yellow tags, please ensure that it is returned to a ULMC member when at the climbing wall.
Borrowing equipment...... during the past year much of the clubs equipment have gone astray or have not been returned. Those people who have some of the club's gear will, i hope, return it so other members, especially new members and beginners, can use it. This year it has been decided to keep a stricter control on equipment, so it cannot go missing. The following rules apply: 1) The only holders of cupboard keys will be committee members. 2) All borrowed equipment must be returned within 3 weeks and all lost or broken equipment reported. This may if neccessary have to be paid for in full. 3) Fallen on ropes must be reported, with history.
Equipment currently available includes ropes (single, half and abseil), helmets, harnesses, belay devices, nuts, hexes, crabs, quick draws, slings, climbing and scrambling guides, maps, tents, stoves, first aid kits, ice axes, deadmen, crampons, minor stocks of outdoor clothing. This equipment is intended to help beginners to avoid a high initial outlay, not to provide personal gear for one person for 3 years.
