Snowdonia February 2001
The weekend began with the stressfull event of no minibus turning up, but after some running about, jumping in taxi's and begging we managed to get one albeit without a handbrake! Eventually ariving in the ogwen valley sometime in the early hours.
Saturday involved two parties heading off to the nameless cwm and climbing Cenifion Arete, and one large group going over to the Carnedds starting off with a scramble then long ridge walk.
Joerg Herwanger leading the first pitch of Cenifion Arete (Mod) 24/02/01, Nameless Cwm.
Matt Walley at the belay of the second pitch of Cenifion Arete.
Mark (foreground) and Matt (belaying) the final pitch.
drinking in the hut, looks like i just spilt my beer!
What i was seeing by this stage, not sure which is worse the bluriness or the scary german :-)
Sunday was a walk for all as the weather had come in over night and snow was covering much of the rock. Tryfan was summited by an advanced party, and attempted by all and a return route over the Glyders was enjoyed by all.
